There is precedence in the logistics. Benjamin Banneker created the almanac which was able to predictd weather patterns, crops, and other logistical things. His acumen was vital in the surveying of Washington DC as the nations national capital.

There is precedence in the technology and engineering. Gerald 'Jerry' Lawson created the first game cartridge which revolutionized the gaming industry. His improving the gaming process opened up a new technique for approaching the industry with his improving the ability to manufacture and cut costs.

There is precedence in the construction industry. From the builders of the pyramids to the building of America's most important residence, Blacks have mightily contributed the the construction of world renown structures.
