TAAG or Transform African American Games is an idea to use Juneteenth as an annual date/time to host a multiple athletic event to pool talent to feed HBCUs. Any and all can attend TAAG. However, each year will have a certain emphasis and targeted participant group. This year's theme, GANG to BOARD MEMBERS (Guys Actually Need Guidance to Being On Accord Reaching Decisions by Meeting Everyday Making Business Entities Reach Success) is geared toward 18-24 year old males from the most popular groups in Los Angeles and Chicago.
Los Angeles has been chosen for the inaugural TAAG event in 2025 due to the targeted date being in the lattler part of the year and weather still being decent enough to have outdoor portion of the event in acceptable conditions. It also ideal for the CORPORATIONS workshop which will be an onsite visit to give a visual to support an entity's vision. Chicago is the chosen location for 2026.
The initial TAAG event is slated for the latter part of 2025. Going forward, Juneteenth will be the targeted date. Use that week as a kick-off-the-summer event to steer the Culture towards progression. Summer is the spike season for disruptive behavior but if an intervention of progressive plans, ideas, projects, and strategies were implemented then things could turnaround for the better.
TAAG is needed to counter the Project 2025 energy and its intended long term effects to suppress, limit, and set our race back. TAAG is an idea from Africwearn. Purchasing products will allow the company to use portions of profits to fund. The idea is to create top shelf event for our participants. Provide a 'mental arse whooping' of LOVE. We aim to procure the best we can in terms of flights, hotel accommodations, food, entertainment, ground transportation, gear, tablets, and overall experience. This can be accomplished at a minimum financial goal of $250,000. 80% goes directly to the event. The remaining 20% will be used by Africwearn to help mentor the groups from January 2026 to June 2026 for the 2026 event.
No, we are asking that you give from your heart. Everyone is playing a role. The team from Africwearn is giving direct support to groups that most aren't comfortable dealing with. So the collective sacrifice will have multiple roles. Looking for those will to help through monetary contributions to support the ones on the ground working directly with the Young Men. The particpants return to their perspective cities to begin next phase which is implementing the 30-month plan. The 2 coaches switch hats to become the CEO and COO of respective businesses. And, the 8 participants become the Board Members in training. Gaining office space, defining roles, connecting with colleges, identifying SMEs, procuring essesntials, and other items listed will begin the journey of GANG TO BOARD MEMBERS.
